Karen Wilbert is corporate secretary/treasurer and vice president of finance for Merchants Express Money Order Company, Inc. and subsidiaries. She directs all the accounting and credit and collections functions, policies and procedures; develops and maintains all the banking relationships, and establishes the annual budget process. Additionally, she is the company liaison for tax planning, insurance, benefits, retirement plans and legal consultants.

Prior to becoming vice president of finance in 2003, Wilbert served as controller. Previously, she worked at Pennsylvania Blue Shield for seven years. She served
as a senior cost analyst, senior internal auditor and audit control analyst. In addition, she worked for two years as a senior accountant for Suran & Associates, Camp Hill, PA.

Wilbert serves on the board of directors for Merchants Express Money Order Company, Inc. and subsidiaries; Keystone Marketing Services, Inc., the Dauphin County Mental Health/Mental Retardation Case Management Unit and the American Literacy Corporation. In addition, she is on the board of advisors for the Hemlock Girl Scout Council.

She received an MBA from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania, a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
